The Downtown Section began November 2012. We visit 100 new families monthly; from the Avenues to 3300 South on the east side of State Street. The average priced home for this area is 320K.
In 2009 we began greeting 80 families a month here. These east side residents dwell on the mountain benches and 70-80% of these homes are re-sales with average priced homes being 400K.
Sandy began in 1994 and happens to be the original city where The Utah Welcome Committee began. Each month 50 homes in Sandy and 50 homes in Draper receive a welcome packet. The average home price here is 490K.
Alpine and Lehi residents started receiving welcome packets in 2005. Until recently, almost all 100 families welcomed each month were new construction. This area still has the greatest amount of newly constructed homes, with the average price being 400K.
In 2002 we began greeting 80 new homeowners monthly in West Jordan. These newcomers are often young families and moving into their first homes. The average priced home in this region is 270K.
Riverton and South Jordan began in 1999 when all of the homes we visited were new construction. Here we average homes 370K, and currently 40% are new construction and 30% are homes under 10 years old that are being re-sold.
American Fork, Highland, Cedar Hills and Highland were once part of the Northern Utah County area. Once we discovered the growth, particularly in this area, we began visiting 100 families between these four cities as well. The average home price in this area is 420K.
Currently, this is the southern boundary for The Utah Welcome Committee. Monthly we visit 50 homes in Orem and 50 homes in Provo. Our greeters began knocking on doors here in 2007 and have found the average home price to be just over 300K.
